At promptly 9:00 on Friday the 23rd of September the school assembled in the hall for a special assembly.There were three talented groups that were going to perform. They were the Choir, Bollywood group and the Tongan Trip group. The Tongan Group were leaving the following day to Tonga.
The first item was from the Bollywood group. The Bollywood girls were wearing a red and gold dress with a fluffy red fan. The boys wore black t-shirts and pants with a sparkly red hat. The Bollywood group was awesome.
Up next was the Choir. When we heard the que we stood up and sang from our hearts. We sang a traditional Niuean song called “ Sipaio ”. We all sang beautifully then we sat down to enjoy the next performance.
The next item was the Tongan group. They were welcomed onto the stage with a BIG cheer. First the girls did a graceful slow Tongan dance. Then the boys did a fast Cook Island dance, a while through the performance the girls joined in and did the Hula.
The final performance was from the choir again. We cheered up the crowd by singing “Bring it all back”. To end the assembly the whole school sang “We are the world” by Michael Jackson.
Friday was a brilliant day and WHAT a talented school!
